A team led by DMJM Harris developed numerous Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) resources for TRB’s Transit Cooperative Research Project (TCRP) A-23. Key products included a glossy brochure, an online video and image library, a compendium and synthesis of 26 BRT case studies from around the world, and “BRT Implementation Guidelines.” The products included information on:

• BRT definition, features and benefits
• How to plan, design, and operate bus rapid transit systems
• How to make BRT systems happen in the institutional, planning, financial, implementation and operations context

These materials are intended to be useful to the general public, community and business leaders, mayors, city managers, city councils, urban development and traffic engineering departments, and transit agencies. The research results have proven useful in planning and developing new BRT concepts, and in translating these concepts into reality. Volume 1 and Volume 2 are available for downloading at the TRB-TCRP web site.
