Alameda Corridor Rail Expressway

Client: Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority (ACTA)
Project location: Southern California, California
Project cost: $2.5 billion
DMJM Harris, in joint venture, provided program management, conceptual development, engineering, and construction management services to the Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority, the Port of Los Angeles, and the Port of Long Beach.
The joint venture developed conceptual designs, conducted preliminary engineering, conducted highway and railroad capacity studies, evaluated alternative routes and designs, prepared environmental reports, and performed program management services for the development of the Alameda Corridor project since the late 1980s.
In preparation for final implementation of the corridor, the joint venture team proposed alternative schedules and staged implementation plans, and developed work-arounds for anticipated opportunities and restraints. In its program management capacity, we were responsible for right-of-way acquisition, utility-relocation coordination, MIS systems, and construction-monitoring services.
