Wabash Tunnel HOV Reversible ITS Tunnel System

DMJM Harris designed and provided three years of TMC operations for an ITS system to monitor and control the reversible roadway tunnel system. This facility provides alternative access into downtown Pittsburgh. We were responsible for design of the CCTV camera system (five cameras), automatic gate control system (17 gates), fiber optic blank out signs (six signs), overhead lane control signal system (16 signs) and a TMC. DMJM Harris was also responsible for development of the software, and systems integration of the software, into the TMC. The project was implemented using a design-build-operate procurement.
