Cleveland Freeway Management System Design

DMJM Harris is designing the freeway management system for the Ohio DOT. The project covers an area of more than 300 miles and includes the following sub-systems: 28 dynamic message signs; 80 closed-circuit television cameras; 47 non-invasive/non-intrusive detectors; two highway advisory radios; and 87 miles of fiber-optic communications supported by wireless communications in certain areas. We are also responsible for the design of a Transportation Management Center to monitor and control the freeway management system and interface with other regional transportation and emergency response partners.
