I-25 Northern Corridor Improvements

Client: Colorado Department of Transportation
Project location: Denver, Colorado
Project cost: $500 million
The Colorado Department of Transportation commissioned DMJM Harris to manage and coordinate the Bus/High-Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) project at the North I-25 Corridor between 20th Street (in downtown Denver) and 70th Avenue. The firm completed the job in 1997, to the delight of Denver motorists.
DMJM Harris was also responsible for the development of project standards and criteria, including traffic-management systems, hazardous-materials guidelines and neighborhood environmental-impact-mitigation measures. An urban design manual was developed to provide consistency of architectural treatment, color landscaping, and lighting, and to ensure aesthetic concordance of project elements with the neighborhoods in which they are placed.
